Get married as early as possible: we check your documents with priority and file the application without delay.

  • We search all suitable municipalities for the earliest free ceremony date
  • Date alerts for new and freed-up slots; we only book with your OK
  • On request, a ceremony with a registrar at a place of your choice where the municipality offers it, for example on a boat or in a garden in Copenhagen
  • A switch to a municipality with an earlier date if one comes up

Nobody can influence how Familieretshuset handles applications or which dates the municipalities offer, so no one can guarantee a specific date. Ceremonies outside the town hall cost extra at the municipality, in Copenhagen DKK 2,732. There you bring two witnesses of your own, the ceremony is in Danish or English, and it takes place one month after the request at the earliest.

Apostilles and certified translations of your own documents are not included in the fixed price: you order them in the issuing country and pay directly (~€130–450 together, if needed); we tell you exactly which ones you need. Our Apostille Service (€199.99) is something else: the apostille on your Danish marriage certificate after the wedding. Included in the fixed price are our services and the AFL government fee. Comparison basis: on your own you pay at least the Familieretshuset fee (€281); apostilles and translations come on top depending on the country, and if anything is missing, processing currently takes about 2 months longer. Our figure is the service flat fee; travel and accommodation come on top whichever route you choose.

What's in the fixed price, and what isn't.

What's really included in the Complete package (€649.99)?
Full guidance through the AFL process: from document list to marriage certificate. Concretely: personal document list, manual review of every scan, application at Familieretshuset (the AFL fee of €281 is included in the fixed price; we pass it on 1:1), authority communication, slot coordination in your preferred municipality, WhatsApp contact Mon–Sun 8 am–10 pm. Not included are apostilles and translations of your own documents; you obtain those yourselves, and we tell you exactly which ones you need. If you need your Danish marriage certificate with an apostille, you add our Apostille Service (€199.99).
How does payment work: staged or one-time?
The default is paying in full at booking by card via Stripe. Alternatively you can choose a deposit at checkout: at least €450 for Complete, half for Essential, the remainder before the ceremony. Beyond that there are no follow-up invoices. Under the 14-day right of withdrawal (statutory; in Switzerland granted voluntarily by contract) we refund all payments; if you asked us to start right away, we deduct the share for services already provided. We forward the AFL authority fee (€281) 1:1 to Familieretshuset. If your application has already been submitted there, this portion can no longer be refunded by us (details in the right-of-withdrawal notice). Before booking, the free 60-second eligibility check ensures you only book if your case fits.
Why are there Essential AND Complete?
Essential (€249.99) is for couples who want to coordinate everything themselves: document list, step-by-step guide, WhatsApp support for three weeks. They submit the application themselves and pay government fees directly. With Complete (€649.99) we handle the entire AFL process: application, authority communication, slot coordination. Most couples choose Complete because the AFL process typically takes 15–25 hours of their own time.
When do I need the apostille add-on (€199.99)?
When you need your Danish marriage certificate with an apostille, usually for authorities outside the EU, e.g. in a partner's home country. In Germany and Austria the multilingual Danish certificate is recognised without an apostille thanks to EU Regulation 2016/1191. After the wedding we obtain the apostille of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and send you the certificate by tracked UPS; the fee and the courier are included, and so is a certified translation if needed. You book the service (€199.99) on top of Essential or Complete.
What if our municipality has no free date left?
Then we change the municipality. After the approval, only Familieretshuset can forward it to another municipality; the municipality itself may not. We find a municipality with a free date in your time frame, request the transfer with your power of attorney and book the new date. The approval stays valid for four months from issue; the change does not extend that. One change is included in Complete; otherwise it costs €99.99, also if you filed the application yourselves.
Are all costs really included in the fixed price?
In the Complete fixed price: all our service items + the AFL authority fee (€281, goes 1:1 to Familieretshuset). Not included: (1) apostilles and certified translations of your own documents, if your case requires them: you obtain those yourselves (typically €130–450); (2) the apostille on the Danish marriage certificate, if you need it: as our Apostille Service (€199.99); (3) Any ceremony fee at your municipality: the ceremony at the town hall is usually free of charge (as of 2025), a fee only applies for ceremonies outside the town hall and varies by municipality; (4) Your travel and hotel costs. You don't pay these external items to us. We tell you personally which documents your case needs and roughly what they cost.
Can I upgrade Essential to Complete later?
Yes, anytime: you simply pay the difference (€400). Important: the apostille on the Danish marriage certificate is not included in any package; if you need it, you add the Apostille Service (€199.99) to Essential or Complete.
