All information without guarantee. We only read the publicly visible calendars and never book anything there. The municipality's calendar and rules are what count.
First the approval, then the date.
- 1
Approval from Familieretshuset
Couples without residence in Denmark first need the approval of the Danish authority. It is valid for four months, and the date must fall within that time.
- 2
Book the date
Most municipalities only give out dates once you have the approval. In Tønder the booking link is even in the approval letter.
- 3
Ceremony and certificate
You travel there, get married and take the international marriage certificate home right after the ceremony.
Questions about wedding dates.
How up to date are the dates?
We read the calendars again at most every six hours. A date shown as free may have been taken in the meantime; only the municipality's calendar is binding.
Can I book the date here?
No. You book with the municipality, and most municipalities only accept a booking once the approval from Familieretshuset is in place.
What if everything is booked everywhere?
In Tønder and Aabenraa new days are added continuously, about 60 days ahead, and they often go quickly. Many municipalities without an online calendar give out dates by email. With the Complete package we take care of your date.
Why are places like Sønderborg or Ærø missing?
They have no public online calendar; dates there are given out by email. You will find their wait times in our guide to the registry offices.
