Our representation runs in two legally separate layers because the Danish Agency of Family Law (Familieretshuset) requires an originally hand-signed power of attorney that no digital consent can replace. This page explains both layers, what they cover, and how to revoke them.
1. Authorised party
The authorised party is Danish Wedding Koltman, represented by Alexander Koltman, Fluhmattstrasse 31, 5400 Baden, Schweiz. Contact: info@wedding-denmark.com.
2. Layer A: Service mandate (digital, internal)
You grant the service mandate digitally in our portal by ticking a checkbox after reading this text. The mandate is stored in your case file with a timestamp, IP address, browser identifier (user agent) and version number as proof of consent (see our privacy policy). Legal basis: contract of services under Swiss law (Art. 394 et seq. CO) and analogously § 611 ff. of the German Civil Code (BGB).
This layer authorises us to:
- Sort documents, check completeness and clarify queries with you
- Prepare application data for Familieretshuset and Danish municipalities
- Procure apostilles at the competent German Regierungspräsidien or other authorities on your behalf
- Commission certified translations from sworn translators
- Coordinate postal dispatch and appointment scheduling
- Receive non-substantive messages, queries and status updates from authorities and pass them on to you
The service mandate does not entitle us to submit the formal AFL application in your name, that requires layer B.
3. Layer B: Authority power of attorney (PDF, hand-signed)
Familieretshuset requires an originally hand-signed power of attorney when a third party submits the application via the digital application form at familieretshuset.dk. Digital signatures (Adobe Sign, DocuSign, eIDAS QES) are not accepted in practice. The only digital alternative is the Danish MitID, which is generally not available to foreign residents without a CPR number.
Practical handling:
- We provide a pre-filled English-language PDF in the portal, based on your identity data (name, date of birth, nationality)
- Both partners print, sign in pen (black or blue ballpoint), scan or photograph all pages clearly and upload the file in the portal
- We submit the scanned PDF as an attachment with the digital AFL application using SMS-login (Familieretshuset's standard for representatives)
Legal basis under Danish administrative law: Familieretshuset's published documentation requirements and the procedural rules of the Agency.
4. What neither layer covers: personal declarations
Neither the service mandate nor the authority power of attorney authorises us to sign the Solemn Declaration (sworn statement of marital status) or any declaration of marital intention on your behalf. Both partners always sign these personally as required by Familieretshuset.
This authority is not legal representation, not legal advice and not a guarantee of success. Familieretshuset and the respective Danish municipality decide independently on the application, follow-up requests, appointment and issuance of the certificate.
5. Duty of truth and evidence
You confirm that all information and documents are complete, genuine and truthful. If Familieretshuset requests additional evidence in individual cases (e.g. relationship evidence), we prepare with you only a targeted and as data-minimal a submission as possible.
6. Revocation
You can revoke either layer at any time with effect for the future by email to info@wedding-denmark.com. Documents already submitted, ongoing official proceedings and any incurred third-party or authority costs remain unaffected. We confirm the revocation in writing and record it in your case file.
7. Documentation
For the digital service mandate we store the timestamp, IP address, browser identifier (user agent) and version number in your case file. The hand-signed authority PDF is stored as an encrypted document upload in the same data area as your other application documents.
